As the season of new beginnings turns another leaf, a new school year falls upon us. As with any beginning, this is a time to reflect and prepare for the tasks that lay ahead. It is human nature to become complacent and comfortable in the daily routine of life. Earthly distractions loom around every corner, which makes keeping our eyes solely on the Lord that much more of a daunting task. However, it is through the Lord we can find the strength and perseverance to worship and praise him even in our darkest times. Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” We are not consumed by our past. It is by the blood and grace of Jesus Christ we may repent and all will be made new. We all come from many different walks of life, but we all have a passion to know our Lord better each day. During this new school year, give God everything you have. He wants your whole heart. Lay down your past, lay down your burdens and give them all to Him. We serve a truly perfect God.
