Support Bama Wesley in 2025!

“When I first came to Bama Wesley, I didn’t know where I fit in. The Monday Common Meal was more than just food—it was a place where I found friends, mentors, and a home. Without it, I don’t know where I’d be. The support and love I received here changed my life.” – Sara

To our Friends of Bama Wesley,

I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been happening at Bama Wesley and ask for your help in keeping this ministry strong.

Bama Wesley is all about creating a space where all students can discover who they are and what they’re here for. We do this by helping them grow in faith, find community, and serve others. Whether it’s through our student-led Monday Common Meal (with communion), Wednesday worship, small groups, service projects, or just being a safe place for students to gather, we’re seeing lives transformed every day. But right now, we’re facing some real financial challenges.

“When I came to Wesley, I didn’t know my place, but they welcomed me greatly. The events are more than just food and good times, it’s community building and fostering connections that can help us get closer to God.” – Alex

Like many ministries, we’ve been hit with a tough combination—giving is down, and expenses keep rising. In light of ongoing HVAC needs and bathroom repairs, we find ourselves at a crossroads between routine building maintenance and ministry growth. While our ministry has grown, so have our expenses. We’ve taken steps to be as financially responsible as possible, cutting costs where we can without sacrificing the heart of what we do. But even with those efforts, we’re at a point where we might have to make some painful decisions.

Right now, we need to raise around $10,000 for the spring to keep providing meals, supporting interns, and offering programs. For the full year, we need to raise $30,000– though we anticipate much of this will come through gameday tailgating and parking registration.

Following is a basic breakdown of the basic costs it takes to keep our ministry functioning. For the year, it costs:

  • $18,408 for interns ($6,782 for the spring semester, $11,627 for the fall)
  • $8,050 for Monday Common Meals (total for spring and fall)
  • $3,500 for programs and events (total for spring and fall)

Our primary concern is the spring. Students drive Bama Wesley, and our internships, student-led Monday meals, and programs are our blueprint for developing leaders for the future. Every week, 40+ students count on our Monday Common Meal—meals that cost an average of $350 per week and provide nourishment and fellowship. Another high-cost asset is our intern program, which plays a crucial role in mentoring and developing student leaders who help shape the future of this ministry (many of whom go on to lead churches themselves!).

Without immediate financial support, these vital programs could be in jeopardy.

“As most people feel starting something new, in my instance college, I was worried and anxious, but as soon as I stepped into Wesley I knew I had found a great place with even better people. Wesley’s outreach events have truly impacted me as that’s how I found Wesley, but it also has allowed me to share our faith, grow in my faith, and find friendships built on faith that will last a lifetime.” – Sarah

“I didn’t know how much I needed Bama Wesley until I found it. I was looking for people to hang around, but it became so much more. The people here have become my friends, my support system, and a constant reminder of God’s love. It’s more than just a group– it’s home.” – Brychan

Would you consider making a one-time or recurring donation today? Even a small recurring gift of $10, $25, or $50 per month allows us to plan ahead and continue ministering effectively.

I first came to Bama Wesley during my freshman year, and immediately, I knew I had found a home. The culture is second to none and is very welcoming. I have made numerous friendships and grown spiritually since my freshman year. Now that I am about to graduate, I am sure that I’ve found my God-given purpose through my involvement in Bama Wesley. -Jim

Thank you for being part of this ministry. We truly couldn’t do this without you!
