Save the date for our Fall Retreat!
This semester we will stick around campus for our Fall retreat so we can join in a local community missions project with local UMC churches and worship with two local UMC churches on Sunday morning.
Friday September 11
We will gather at The Wesley Foundation at 5:30pm to eat dinner.
At 7pm we will enter into a special time of worship.
After worship we will play some games and hang out.
Around 10pm we will have a vespers service to end the night and prepare our hearts for a time of service and discipleship the next morning.
Saturday September 12
We will gather at The Wesley Foundation for a quick breakfast at 8:30am.
Then we will head over to Forest Lake UMC at 9am to join our partners from Trinity UMC, First UMC Tuscaloosa, Forest Lake UMC, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build beds for kids in the Tuscaloosa area who do not have beds.
Around noon we will finish up at Forest Lake and break for showers and to change into our Game Day attire.
We will meet back at The Wesley Foundation at 1pm for a tailgate style lunch and then watch the Bama vs Kentucky football game in the Great Room (kick off is set for 2pm). There will be other activities and hangout opportunities if football isn’t your thing.
After the game (around 5:30pm) we will have dinner.
At 7pm we will have a special time of discipleship and worship and see where the Holy Spirit leads us.
After worship we will hang out around the fire on the patio and in the common room with smores, hot cocoa, and other late night snacks.
At 10pm we will head into the chapel for vespers to close out the night, reflect on the day of service, discipleship, worship, and fellowship.
Sunday September 13
We will gather at The Wesley Foundation at 8:30am to carpool to the 9am Bridge Contemporary worship at First UMC Tuscaloosa. (Feel free to meet us there if you would rather).
After worshipping and spending a little time with our siblings at First UMC we will head back to The Wesley Foundation to pick up any late risers.
At about 10:45am we will head over to Forest Lake UMC for a special time of worship (Zac will be preaching) and connection with our siblings there. (Feel free to meet us there if you would rather).
After the service (around 12:30pm) we will head back to The Wesley Foundation for a fellowship lunch.
At 2pm we will begin our closing worship session in the Great Room at The Wesley Foundation.
At 3pm we will play games on the lawn and/or inside depending on the weather before heading out to get some rest before starting another week together.
There is no cost for Wesley Weekend. All are welcome to participate in any or all activities throughout the weekend.
We hope you will join us for the whole special weekend together as we grow closer to God, one another, and our surrounding communities!
